Mission
Preserving a Historic Legacy
The Kitchi Gammi Club Foundation was established as a separate legal entity to serve as a public charity, ensuring that all contributions are tax-deductible and dedicated to the long-term preservation of the Club.
Its purpose is focused specifically on maintaining and repairing the exterior of the historic clubhouse and its surrounding grounds. By supporting these essential needs, the Foundation helps reduce operational burdens on the Club while protecting its architectural integrity and character.
With a forward-looking approach, the Foundation continues to build and manage an endowment fund to address both planned improvements and unexpected repairs—ensuring the Club remains strong, beautiful, and preserved for generations to come.
Investing in the Club’s History
Over the years, the Foundation has supported numerous projects focused on maintaining and enhancing the Club’s exterior and grounds. These efforts ensure the building’s longevity while preserving its historic character.
Front Terrace Reconstruction – 2026
Reconstruction of the Club’s front terrace, part of an ongoing commitment to maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of the Club’s exterior spaces. Restoring the landscaping is the final step to bring the project to completion.
East Garden & East Terrace Restoration
The Foundation paid for the restoration of the East Garden and East Terrace, including restoration of the East Club door.
Ongoing Repairs & Maintenance
Necessary, but not very visible, repairs and maintenance of the clubhouse exterior and grounds are done all the time, including landscaping.

A. Cash Gifts

Duluth, MN 55802 - Distributions from individual retirement accounts and other qualified retirement plans. Please note the special tax benefit of distributions from IRA accounts for persons age 70½ and older.
- Distributions from Donor-Advised Funds are welcome (the Foundation is a public charity for tax purposes).
- Gifts From Employers — either through a company campaign or a match to an employee donation.
- Distributions from Private Foundations (family or special interest) are welcome (the Foundation is a public charity for tax purposes).
B. Stocks, Bonds, and Securities
Publicly traded securities may be transferred directly to the Foundation account at North Shore Investments & Trust in Duluth. The gift will be recognized at full market value at the date of the transfer.
Proposed gifts of closely held securities must be carefully reviewed by the Foundation Board following our Gift Acceptance Policy.
C. Life Insurance Policies
Life insurance policies may be transferred directly to the Foundation, but the Foundation retains the option to surrender the policy for cash value at any time.
D. Real Estate, Artwork, Antiques and Other Personal Property
Proposed gifts of items in these categories must be carefully reviewed by the Foundation Board following our Gift Acceptance Policy.
In accordance with our mission, all gifts in these categories accepted by the Foundation must be liquidated immediately.
Memorial Gifts
At Donor’s request, lifetime gifts may be recorded and recognized as a memorial to a deceased loved one or honor someone for a significant occasion. These gifts are meaningful and lasting tributes supporting the legacy of the Kitchi Gammi Club.
Legacy Gifts
Deferred gifts through estate planning
Your estate plan may include some of the following documents:
- Last Will and Testament.
- Revocable (Living) Trust.
- Irrevocable Trust.
- Individual Retirement Account.
- Other Qualified Retirement Plan.
- Life Insurance Policy.
- Annuity.
In all of these estate planning tools, you may name the Foundation as a direct beneficiary of a stated dollar amount or a percentage of the available balance (or a contingent beneficiary in the same manner).
All gifts to the Foundation effective at the time of death qualify for the estate tax charitable deduction and are valued as of the date of death.
